Save The Dreamcatcher

The Dreamcatcher needs our help.

Due to Hurricane Irma and Maria, this beautiful space was able to bounce back with open doors to all of those seeking support, shelter and a place to stay in beautiful Puerto Rico.

While insurance is covering any property damage that may have been caused due to the storm, it does not account for the 20 employees who are surviving in the aftermath of the two destructive storms, or the money lost while the doors were closed for over a month without guests.

The funds that help keep the lights on, pay the priceless Dream Team and support play a key role in the Puerto Rican community has been lost over the last month filled with back to back natural disasters, affecting the entire country, The Dream community included.

The Story:

Repeated winner of The Traveler’s Choice Award by Trip Advisor, The Dreamcatcher holds a magic and nostalgia in the hearts of those who’ve had the blessing of spending time in this little oasis tucked by the sea in Ocean Park, San Juan. Since 2013, thousands of people have created their own stories on site, making the house a repeat destination.

From a three bedroom house on, to an 12 bedroom three kitchen property, it has become one of the main contributing factors to the local economy boost in the most beloved area of Calle Loiza, just on the outskirts of the Old City.

The evolution has brought great contributions to an area of Puerto Rico that is known for its local culture and warmth, that was often overlooked by big hotel chains when it came to supporting the local economy.

While helping the community outside of the property, internally, The Dream is a source of income to many Puerto Ricans.  It's also a home for local artisan retail, workshops, tours, massage, yoga and of course, gourmet meals prepared fresh and daily, on-site are also offered.

What does this mean for you:

By supporting this campaign, you also support the revitalization of Puerto Rico.

Volunteers arriving to Puerto Rico will need a place to stay. There will need to be an operation base where people can come when they need a shower, a fresh meal, a person who can offer a resource.

We view the dream as a resource for recirculation and catalyst setting for helping Puerto Rico organize resources and heal.  Learn more about those current efforts by The Dream Team here .
