At the Black Pearls of Genealogy (BPOG), we are dedicated to preserving, documenting, and sharing the rich histories and genealogies of African American families. Our mission is to ensure that these stories, often overlooked and underrepresented, are told and remembered for generations to come. Through our research, education, and community outreach, we empower individuals to discover their roots, connect with their heritage, and honor the legacies of their ancestors.

One of our most cherished initiatives is the ANCESTRAL MEMORIALS Projects. This project is dedicated to commemorating and honoring the lives of our ancestors who paved the way for us. By creating physical memorials in all 50 states, we ensure that the contributions, sacrifices, and stories of these individuals are not forgotten but celebrated and passed down through generations.

Why We Need Your Help

We are launching this GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for:

Ancestral Memorials Projects: Supporting the development of our physical memorials to honor our ancestors. These memorials include online tributes, and the preservation of gravesites, ensuring that their stories are remembered and respected.

Website Maintenance and Development: Ensuring that our website, thebpog.org, remains a reliable and user-friendly platform for research, resources, and community connection.

Expansion of Our Digital Archives: Adding more historical documents, photos, and family records to our online collection, making them accessible to researchers, families, and educators.

Educational Programs: We are developing online resources to help individuals learn about genealogy, research techniques, and the importance of preserving family history.

Community Outreach: Expanding our outreach efforts to connect with more families, schools, and organizations, particularly in underrepresented communities.
