A Unique Theatre Project for Children
TheaterLiteraTour
Two years of theatre and magic, all created from a single source. Support my heartfelt project for children in hospitals and hospices.
For over two years, I have been visiting children in hospitals and children’s hospices as a drama teacher and actress with many years of experience , with a project I have entirely developed, written, and designed myself: "Skara 1.0 – Skara and the Comet Shards.“
I didn’t just write a story. I created a world. A character. A theatrical framework. A whole concept that offers children in difficult life situations courage, connection, and a spark of magic.
There is no comparable initiative that so lovingly combines theatre, poetry, fantasy, and compassionate pedagogy.
What exactly happens during a visit?
I enter the room as Skara, an exiled figure from the fairytale realm of Anaru, accompanied by Milo,a large, fluffy creature with a special sense for quiet emotions.
I bring along a self-illustrated picture book, small stage props, gentle music, handmade cometshards , and most importantly: time.
I don’t simply read aloud , I perform, I tell stories, I connect. I create a safe and magical spacewhere children can feel hope again.
At the end of every visit, I give each child a comet shard from Anaru ,a handmade talisman for courage and memory. Together, we build a Sky of Wishes, where children's thoughts and hopes become visible.
What your donation makes possible:
Most hospitals and hospices cannot afford to pay for this project. But I want to continue , with professionalism, heart, and dignity.
Your donation provides real, tangible help: - Scenic visits as Skara in hospitals and hospices -Handcrafted comet shards as gifts for each child - Creative materials for the Sky of Wishes - Writing of new stories and mini theatre plays (topics: fear, courage, grief, hope) - Development of a follow-up project for older children and teens (topics: loneliness, depression, inner strength) - Travel costs, preparation, props, and support for collaborators
Why this project is so special
Because every part of it comes from me: The idea, the text, the performance, the concept, the design, the realization. Because I don’t play on a stage, I stand in the middle of real life. Because I don’t 'perform' , I encounter, with respect, sensitivity, and authentic connection.
As a trained theatre pedagogue with many years of experience working with children and young people, I know that theatre can open doors, even (and especially) where hope feels fragile.
Become part of the journey
I work alone. And while I can make a big difference ,I can’t do it without support.
Every donation helps me continue this unique work. It allows Skara to reach new children. It let stories bring comfort. And it makes little stars shine, even where it’s dark.
Thank you for making this possible.
