Recovering From Unexpected Financial Costs

Hello, my name is Debbie!

I am the daughter of my dad, Calvin, and I am reaching out on behalf of our family in order to find ways to help support us as we work our way through my dad's battle with a Stage 4 Glioblastoma. It's left him unable to work, and while we do get SSDI for him, it's still put us in a precarious position as I am unable to work more than part-time while I care for him. Unfortunately, this was only the start of our familial problems.

Recently, my mother decided to move out and leave, stating that she was not going to help with my dad and that she thinks our current home is haunted in a way that ruins her life. She has a history of being wild and dramatic and abusive due to some mismanaged mental health issues that she has, which led to her putting me and my dad through the cycle of abuse often. I gave her an ultimatum to get her things out, and the past few days have been a living nightmare that I've been trying to shield my dad from the worst of because he doesn't need more added stress.

My mother has gone on to cancel several of my utilities, ruining how I pay my bills and leading to me incurring further costs for getting things back up and running and thus putting me in a position where I am going to be struggling with bills in this next month due to her wild behavior. I've already spent more than I wanted to in getting a doorbell camera and new entry knobs so that I can change the locks to keep her out of the house and to keep us safe (and again, reduce the stress that my dad has to deal with).
