The Woodlands Club has been an important part of the village for 57 years plus providing a fantastic friendly, social meeting place for not only the immediate village, but wider surrounding villages and visitors to the area. In addition to the bar area, the snug provides a cosy space to enjoy a drink with friends, or for just relax with a nice hot chocolate, or a tipple or two reading a book, knitting or whatever other pastime takes your fancy. The Woodlands provides a great meeting space for newcomers to the area to get to know other residents making new friends. The club is committee based, has one member of paid staff, the rest are voluntary. New members/visitors are always welcome.

The club has a pool table, darts board as well as a function room. The Woodlands has 5 table tennis teams who play competitively in the Wymondham Table Tennis League, under the auspices of Table Tennis England the national governing body. A table tennis table is available for anyone to use if they wish. Live music is a common event which is open for members and non-members and guests. The function room is available for private hire as well as being the focal point for many events and parties throughout the year. One of the biggest events of the year is the Christmas fayre and grotto. This years Christmas fayre is Saturday 6th December from 11am to 4pm.

The building is of timber construction. While many repairs and improvements have already been made to the building, a survey has identified that the toilets which serve the function room, have dry rot in the walls. The repair of this structural defect will cost £24,000. While a grant has been applied for, even if approved, it will only cover a small part of the total cost, leaving the Club to raise funds for the remainder of the work and ongoing maintenance/improvements. It is for this reason the club is seeking to raise £10,000 to enable this necessary repair to be carried out, so that the club can continue to provide the important facility to the community.
