The WKOPDIWTB Project-Better Choices, Better World

Donation protected
WHO & WHAT
My name is David S. Chorney, and this is the WKOPDIWTB Project . “WKOPDIWTB” is an acronym for “What Kind Of Person Do I Want To Be?”

THE PURPOSE
The purpose of the WKOPDIWTB Project is to help people become the kind of person they want to be, whatever that may mean to them individually. To help people live up to the values they desire, by making better choices that affect others in their everyday lives.

In the end, the goal of the WKOPDIWTB Project is to make the world a better place to live, one choice at a time.

The WKOPDIWTB Project has nothing to do with religion or politics, it doesn’t exclude anyone, and it does include everyone. The Project doesn’t even dictate the values one should live up to. The WKOPDIWTB Project exists to help each individual live up to whatever values he or she finds important. And in that way, we make the world a better place to live for all of us.

THE BASICS
The WKOPDIWTB wristbands act as a stylish reminder to live up to the values you most want to live up to. People can visit the WKOPDIWTB website, read our entire story, and order up to 10 wristbands to wear or give away. If they want to, they can always come back and order more. Ordering wristbands cost zero for those ordering. I pay for all the wristbands, the packaging, and postage. I also pay for any advertising of the WKOPDIWTB Project.

THE COSTS (To run the WKOPDIWTB Project)
I originally created the WKOPDIWTB Project as something I would bear the costs of, but also with an eye towards asking for help if it grew like I thought it could grow. It has certainly done that. And now I need that help. With the donations for this project, I will:

·         Purchase the creation of the wristbands

·         Purchase the packaging for mailing the wristbands

·         Pay for the postage for mailing the wristbands

·         Purchase continuing advertising, mostly on Facebook, for the WKOPDIWTB Project. I do find, when I advertise on Facebook, the website traffic spikes considerably.

Obviously, this can cycle upwards fast. The more I advertise, the more wristbands I’ll need, the more packaging and the more postage I’ll need too. Every penny I get will be used to make this project grow.

THE MEANING TO ME
This project means the world to me. It’s my small way to do my part in making the world a better place to live, and now, others can make it their way too. They say you should think globally and act locally. This is a way for us to all think locally and act globally. The good we can do, by helping each individual live up to his or her own values can be enormous. These choices we make, whether it’s a favor, good deed, compliment, or whatever else, affects others. They affect their mood, their perception of the world around them, they affect how they make their own choices in turn. We have the opportunity to have an impact on the world around us.

HOW YOU CAN HELP
If you would be so kind to contribute, you would be helping the WKOPDIWTB Project help others make better choices. You’d be helping to make the world a better place to live, one choice at a time. Whatever the size of your contribution, it’s all important, and will play a significant role in helping the Project have an impact on the world around us.

Another way you can really help is by sharing this GoFundMe link. If you would be so kind as to share it on your Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter accounts, as well as any other accounts, or with friends, that would go a long way in helping the WKOPDIWTB Project succeed.

I would love to say I’ll send you free wristbands if you contribute, but the wristbands are already free! All you need to do is go on-line and order them.

However, in return for your contribution, I’ll not only include your first name in my updates, but you can bet you’ll have my eternal gratitude for your impact on the Project and on the world around us.

UPDATES
I plan to update this GOFUNDME page every week or every two weeks. Donors will have their first names mentioned, I will be posting some of the email comments I receive within the orders I get, and the growing count of how many wristbands I’ve sent out, and what states they’re going to.

THE BACKSTORY

There is a much longer version of this on the WKOPDIWTB  website (www.wkopdiwtb.com) but a long time ago, I decided to become a better person. As part of that attempt, whenever I had a choice to make I didn’t really want to do I started asking myself, “What kind of person do I want to be?” It helped me to make choices I not only felt good about, but were better for everyone around me too.

Fast forward about 10 years and I realized I had been asking myself “What kind of person do I want to be?” several times a day. After all, a person can make hundreds of choices per day, and there are many that aren’t all that enticing.

I thought about how many people this was affecting other than myself. One or two times per day, 10 times a week, 500 times a year, maybe 5,000 better choices over the last 10 years, and all of them affecting others. Those others feel the positive affects, and some pay it forward. The ripples go on long after the choices are made.

I decided to create wristbands with the acronym WKOPDIWTB (What Kind Of Person Do I Want To Be?) on them, not only as a stylish reminder to myself, but also, if someone asked about it, I could give them one and it may help them like it helped me.

I realized I could give them more than one, just in case someone they knew asked about theirs, but those people may not get the story like I felt it, and it may not inspire them the same way. So I created a website to explain the WKOPDIWTB Project’s mission, and I included the website on the opposite side of the wristband.

As the potential exploded in my head, I included, as part of the website, an area where people can order their own wristbands, not only to wear, but to give away also.

If one person ordered 10 wristbands and gave 9 away, and those nine people ordered ten each and gave them away, and each new person that received a wristband went to the site and ordered ten each to give away, soon this project could become not just a project, but a movement.

We are only in the beginning, but so far, it has spread above and beyond what I imagined for something at this stage. I have sent out almost 1,700 wristbands all over the United States, including California, Florida, Montana, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, North Carolina, South Dakota, Kansas, Virginia, Illinois, Massachusetts, West Virginia, Rhode Island, and Connecticut.

Everyone from Guidance counselors, Pastors, teachers, doctors, high school students, and many others have ordered from our website.

On each order, a person can enter any comments they want. Those who order are absolutely enthused by this project and truly believe it can make a world of difference. And it can! If one person makes one better choice they would not have otherwise made, the world is a tiny bit better place to live. If a LOT of people make a LOT of better choices they would not have otherwise made, we can have a HUGE impact on the world around us. The ripple effects of our choices, and how they affect others, will go on long after we make those choices. Sometimes for generations.

I don’t charge anything to anyone who orders the WKOPDIWTB wristbands. All of the wristbands are free, the packaging is free, and the postage is free. It all comes out of my pocket.
