The Whitman Family - house fire fund

Our lovely friends Phil and Naomi Whitman moved with their family from Salford to Somerset at the start of this year - they are so missed!

At the end of May, an electrical fault in the front room fireplace of their new home, caused a spontaneous fire. Thank fully the family were out of the house and unharmed. Neighbours called the fire brigade quickly, but despite the fire being fairly contained, the smoke and soot damage has ruined everything in their home. Only clothes and crockery have been salvageable. Yes, they are insured but are facing up to 6 months in temporary accommodation and the prospect of replacing everything they owned.

Naomi and Phil would be the first to help others in this situation. This is the last thing any one would have wished on this lovely, generous family, as they settled into their new area. As their friends in Salford, too far away to offer practical help, we wanted to set up this fundraiser to offer some financial support to the family - even if it’s just so they can enjoy a meal out together, have a massage, or buy some things for the kids-what ever they need to get them through.

The family don’t know we are setting up this fund. I’m sure they would try and decline if they knew, but we also know that so many of us love them and want to help!
