The Magic Circle has had permanent headquarters in Stephenson Way in Euston since 1998. While the building has proven to be an incredible asset, it falls short when it comes to the requirements of members and patrons who have disabilities.
Wayne Dobson was an honorary vice president of The Magic Circle, and one of the UK's most successful magical entertainers. Sadly Wayne passed away in July of 2025 after complications from Multiple Sclerosis; a condition he was diagnosed with in 1988.
As a fitting tribute to the legacy of one of our most esteemed members, and someone who lived and continued to perform with a disability for over 35 years; the Magic Circle is creating "The Wayne Dobson Legacy Project" to raise money to adapt the headquarters and make it accessible for all.
The Circle is planning a memorial for Wayne in July 2026 on the anniversary of his passing and the aim of the project is to have all the adaptations in place for the event.
The first step of this process will be for us to have professional assessment to review the building and make the recommendations for change. Once this is accomplished, we will have a definitive fundraising goal.
This is our building, and it is our responsibility to make sure that it is accessible not just for all of our members but for the visiting public.
Thank you, on behalf of Wayne's estate, and all disabled members.
