Hi my name is Neville Gaunt and I'm here to share the success our refugee entrepreneur program and ask you to help us build a permanent facility for refugees in Nakivale Refugee Settlement in Uganda.
Here's just one of 260, mostly women who have been through the Happy Ladder Program in the last 2 years and created her own sustainable micro-business!
We are giving hope, where all hope was lost.
Fund Raising
We have already raised the funds to buy the land for £1.200 (Euro 1,400) and the remaining required will:
1 build the centre, including solar power and wifi access to make it self-sustainable
2 operate the centre for 2025 while we generate an income to cover 2026 and beyond
Every micro-business we create costs less than $50 which includes, training, support, materials and mentoring to ensure each micro-business is sustainable.
The Future
Once built and operating we plan to build more centres in Nakivale as there are over 180,00 refugees (mostly women) who want to make a better life for thrmselves and their family. Our plans include a mobile facility to reach difficult areas which will make a unique combination.
Ujuzi is a registered charity in Uganda and will provide SDG Compliance certificates including impact statements reflecting the social impact of your donation.
Whatever you can donate WILL make a difference and you will see the impact on Ujuzi social media accounts on Facebook and LinkedIn.
