It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the unexpected passing of Jonas Tremel.
Jonas was a highly respected leader, colleague, and friend who brought exceptional technical expertise, professionalism, and a steady presence to our teams over the past 25 years.
Beyond his technical strengths, Jonas was known for his integrity, calm leadership, and genuine willingness to support those around him. He was often the first to lighten the mood with a joke, creating a positive and enjoyable work environment.
Jonas loved being out in nature—an avid fly fisherman, hunter, and skeet shooter.
He was a long-standing and dedicated member and volunteer of both the Calgary and Alberta BMX Racing organizations. Jonas was a pillar of the community and a steadfast supporter of his family’s passion for BMX.
Our thoughts are with Jonas’ family, friends, and all who had the privilege of working with him during this difficult time. He will be truly missed.
To honor Jonas and support his family, we have created this GoFundMe page to assist with immediate expenses.
Contributions may also go toward supporting his son Dylan's pursuit of BMX during the 2028 Olympics and his daughter Hailey's education.
Jonas' legacy lives on in the beautiful family that he so deeply cherished.
Calgary BMX has set up an email address for messages of condolence to the family. Please visit the link for the email address.
