Hi, my Name is Siobhan Kelleher, and every year I run The Sunflower Project.

This initiative has raised money to support young people in eating disorder treatment across Ireland for 4 years now!

The money you are donating is used to make, pack and send care packages to young people in inpatient treatment over the Christmas season. At 17 years old, I spent five months in Inpatient services in Galway being treated for Anorexia Nervosa. It was the hardest, but one of the most important experiences of my life. The care and support I received in Inpatient saved my life - and I am far from being the only person who can say this. Rates of eating disorders have been rapidly rising since 2020, and with anorexia having the highest mortality rate of any mental illness, any effort that is made to create community supports and care for these young people is so very important !!

I am so grateful to say that last year we raised just under €4,000! This meant that, after the care packages were made and posted, €2,687 was donated directly to the Bodywhys Organisation
