Hello/Namaste everyone.Happy New Year 2026.
“The Summit Of Support”. 20.60 Kg for the 26 Gurkha Victoria Cross recipients in 2026. A Number chose with precision, A weight chosen with meaning, Covering elevation of 10,193M (Mount Everest 8848 M) and Ben Nevis (1,345 M) in Pen Y Fan (886 M). I am LCpl Anmol Thapa currently employed with TSD, IBS.I am leading this fundraising from 13 Jan 2026 to 13 Feb 2026 to support Project KAIDA, led by The Gurkha Museum in Winchester, UK and The Combat stress.
Mount Everest, stands as the tallest mountain in the Earth, reaching an immense 8848 M (29,031 Ft) above sea level. Known in Nepali as Sagarmatha ( Goddess of Sky). Everest is more than mountain, it represents spirit, strength and unbreakable connection to the land. Gurkhas, growing up in steep Himalayan terrain built the physical and mental toughness that later defined their service. The mountain is the symbol of determination, loyalty and bravery shown by the 26 Gurkha Victoria cross recipients whose legacy continues till today.
Ben Nevis represents resilience, endurance, and the highest standard of service to the nation. As the tallest mountain (1,345 M) in the UK, it stands as a powerful symbol of British identity and achievement, reflecting the commitment and sacrifice of those who have served their country. The climb itself mirrors the journey many veterans face after service — long, demanding, and often fought in difficult conditions where the summit is not always visible. It is not just a test of physical strength, but of mental resilience, determination, and the ability to keep going when the path is hard.
Pen y Fan represents the deep bond between the Gurkhas and the British Army, forged through shared hardship, loyalty, and service. For generations, the mountain has been a place of training where Gurkha soldiers and British troops have climbed side by side, enduring the same conditions and pushing through the same physical and mental challenges.
Project KAIDA is a four-year transformation project aimed at modernising the Gurkha Museum into a world-class centre that honours the heritage, ethos, and contributions of the Gurkhas to the British Army and beyond. This includes gallery renovations, digitisation of archives, and expanded educational outreach.
Combat Stress provides specialist clinical treatment for conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, and complex trauma linked to service. This includes one-to-one therapy, group programmes, residential treatment, and community-based support, all delivered by clinicians who understand military life and culture. Combat Stress exists to ensure that no veteran faces invisible battles alone, helping them regain stability, purpose, and hope after service.
Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference in helping preserve and promote Gurkha history for future generations and veterans fighting unseen battles. I sincerely thank you in advance for your generosity and support toward this important cause.
Together, let’s honour the legacy.
