The Stout Family

Hi Friends & Family,

The Stout Twins have arrived!

As you may know, on January 18, my sister Katharine gave birth to twin boys at 31 weeks at Stamford Hospital. The labor and delivery was complicated to say the least, but both boys are in the NICU and doing well all things considered. They are getting stronger each day as Katharine recovers from the delivery.

Unfortunately, Katharine tested positive for COVID when she was admitted to the hosptial which was an absolute shock as they had essentially been isolated except for her visits to the doctor's office. This means she and Tyler cannot see or touch their babies for 10 days. Tyler was able to meet the boys briefly after they arrived but Katharine has not met them in person yet. The staff at Stamford Hospital has been very supportive and Katharine and Tyler are able to FaceTime with the boys, but as you can imagine, it is a devastating start to their parenthood journey. Katharine will be released from the hospital this week to wait out her quarantine from home while the boys will be sitting tight in the NICU for a couple of weeks at least. Katharine's mom, Linda, will be able to visit the twins in the NICU daily until Katharine and Tyler can be there themselves.

As this joyful - albeit difficult - news has spread, our family keeps getting met with the same question: what can I do? I am setting up this GoFundMe as a way to help support The Stouts over the next few weeks as they find lodging closer to the hospital, commute to and from the hosptial, accumulate unexpected medical expenses, need or order meals, fill up their gas tanks, etc.

Katharine and Tyler, have been completely overwhelmed and humbled by the outpouring of support they've received over the last few days and are grateful beyond measure for all of it. If you know them at all, you know that they are always the first to offer a loving helpful hand to a friend in need and it's been a light in a time of darkness to see their community find ways to raise them up.
