My name is Nina and 19 years ago in 2005, I had a cup of tea and a chat with a colleague at our workplace in Sweden. That chat ended up with us starting a project in her home village, Wagwe, in Kenya.
Today we run a full primary school with 250 students, The Mama Norah Education Center, and we have sent numerous of children to secondary school and university education through our fundraising work.
Since then I have spent my free-time, thousands of hours, working voluntarily to run the organisation. I have travelled with volunteer groups to Kenya and worked hard to create awareness of the importance of education for these vulnerable children.
The story of Mama Norah´s is a beautiful story of people coming together to change the future for the children of Wagwe and how the community in Wagwe raised it´s self esteem and gained hope for the future.
Today with the threat of a digital divide, and a AI-knowledge divide we are working hard to bridge this gap and it is even more important to tell the story of the impact of a small project like ours.
This story, with all it´s small personal stories, I wish to put in writing into the book of my journey with The Mama Norah Education Centre. By donating to this fundraiser you will make it possible for me to write this book and to publish it. So please help me fund the book of the story that started with a cup of tea.
Best regards
Nina
