The Spirit Tree Project Ayahuasca Conservation

!!!UPDATE!!! Covid Crisis Reaches Purin...

While I am very to happy to share with you all the progress we are making, in rehabilitating the drinking well, establishing a nursery space and Ayahuasca Kitchen and in continuing to secure positive relations with the village and authorities and deepen the bond with the community I must also bring light to the new and arising crisis involving Covid 19.  Once a paradise and refuge of sorts, a magical place where the virus had not touched, last week Purin saw our first death from Covid 19, a 17 year old new mother who passed after complications from labor spiked blood pressure and sent her into a pulmonary seizure.
In light of this, it is now my responsibility to reach out for assistance in enabling the village to manage the outbreak and to step up preparedness to handle medical emergencies. Among the needs at this time are a supply of over the counter and prescription medications as well as plant remedies, a bridge over a dangerous swamp to the nearby town with medical services, CPR and basic emergency medical training for 3 members of the village, basic sanitation equipment and protocols, wifi connection to secure communication between the village and authorities in an emergency as well as maintenance of the community generator and plumbing to get water services fully flowing.
Thank you all so much for your support and care for our project and the community of Purin in this time and again, as the energy is right I look forward to sharing some photos and video of our progress.
From the forest and the people of Purin I send thanks and blessings!

Original post

We at The Spirit Tree Project are happy to announce to the world, the birth of Our Project in Purin, one that produces and protects precious medicinal plants and Sacred Trees of the Amazon Rainforest while bringing much-needed support,  sustainable growth and income to the Native Community of Purin, an indigenous Shiphibo settlement on the Rio Tamayo 7 hours from the port of Pucallpa.

The scope of the project is vast, encompassing the conservation of a precious grove of the sacred tree Ushpawasha Sanango (Tabernamonae Undulata), a botanical Garden, a community Maloka, a Plantation of Ayahuasca, Chacruna, and other admixture plants and Sacred Palos (trees), as well as a reforestation effort in the style of Syntropy or Agro-forestry designed to supply sustainable food, medicine and building materials for generations to come. We hope this will serve not only as a test ground for future work but also as a model for education of this technique to share and spread to other indigenous and mestizo communities, securing an abundant future for the local populations.

In exchange for the land, the project will provide funds to maintain the local drinking well, deliver water to each home, build a community center for governance and community meetings, provide Internet to the local school, and much more; additionally it will regularly provide much-needed work to the men and women of the community through our work developing these areas and producing medicine for a network of qualified providers around the world.

It is our practice to make prayers and offerings to the Spirits of Plant and Place, to the River and the Forest, and to the ancestors of these people. It is these forces that drive our work and they have assured that this system has left nothing to fault; the land, the people, and the broader world served in seamless Syntropic Harmony, all growing together toward a healthier and more abundant future for all.

We, like many of you, are sincerely convinced of the potential of Ayahuasca and these Sacred Palos and their ability to heal and transform the planet into a sustainable and harmonious future. From where we stand, the medicine, the forces of Nature, and the Spirits of these plants possess an inspired consciousness, they are the exudations of the mind of the Earth as she strives to help us heal our inherited trauma and grow into the Good Stewards we are destined to become. Humanity is still in its youth, brash and ignorant, but learning from its past mistakes (as are many of us). We are just emerging to the full consciousness of our potential and the responsibility that comes with it; in a sense, we are growing up and experiencing the pains associated with that process but also the rewards of maturity and understanding that reflect our higher nature, our potential, our Devine blueprint as a species.

We are humbled and happy to serve in this mission; to protect these Sacred Plant allies and produce a medicine of the highest quality and spiritual integrity, and in this way, help move our species closer toward our future Home, a life-supporting and enriching Niche, of Harmony, Health and Abundance on this beautiful Gift of a Planet, this Sacred Garden we have received. Our Home, our Path, our Mother, the system at the leading edge of evolution is supporting this effort through the work of these Plant Spirits, and the peoples who have carried them forth from our ancestral past with such care and those of us called to serve at this time. These forces flow together in a natural inspired harmony that we feel will become an example of a new way of walking on the Earth, one that flows by the inspiration of the Spirit of Nature and the Force and Consciousness of Life itself, in consideration of the health and growth of all of its parts, species, cultures, and the planet as a whole.

These times are troubled, but amid the chaos, a New Consciousness is being born, in this project and in many others. We eagerly invite you to participate with us, in support, in attention, in financial contributions, and for some of you, with your hearts and minds and hands directly, as we play our part in this New Emerging System, a healing organ, and a model for Sustainable, Regenerative Growth, and Abundance in the New Ecology of Harmony. We invite you to share this call and to learn more in the text that follows and in the content that will follow on Facebook and Youtube detailing our goals, our progress, and a deeper view of the consciousness of the movement emerging in service to our planet and to Life itself.

In the Spirit of love and Gratitude, from the Forest, from myself and the Community of Purin, we send blessings to your Path, your Process, and your Works! We´re doing quite well folks, I assure you, and in some way we are already there, holding hands, singing, celebrating and praying prayers of gratitude and respect for the world we have been given, the one we have created and the generations that will inherit. Thank you all for your hard work and your ability to dream a better world and work to make it real!

Goals:

Our goals in this initial petition for capital are to:

1) Rehabilitate the drinking well to ensure clean drinking water
2) Implement a waste disposal system to limit the impact of plastic trash on the local environment, something we hope will spread as a solid model emerges
3) Provide support to the local school and community church
4) Establish a stock of much-needed modern and plant medicine for the community

Things as simple as Tylenol are often the difference between someone suffering for days or feeling relief and wellness and are as a rule, lacking in this and many other communities. In exchange for these donations, we will secure the preservation of Ushpa Sanango, wild Chacruna and other precious species in the area and establish and develop an area for the sustainable planting of Ayahuasca, Capirona, Remo Caspi, Uchu Sanango, Chiri Sanango, Piñon Colorado, Bobinsana, Virola, Chaliponga, and other species as seeds become available including the highly rare and precious Noya Rao. Additionally, with this capitol, we will be establishing a kitchen for processing and preparing medicine, as well as looking to buy a boat for use in transporting supplies, plants, medicine, and firewood from surrounding areas, which will then provide work for local men and food for their families. These men are strong, knowledgeable, and willing to work; they know where the resources are but are often hampered by having to rent a boat. It Is clear that when we arrive to work, it creates work for everyone and brings needed energy to the local economy, with a seasonal boost in income for the families which helps provide for shoes, clothes, household items, tools, and fishing gear and allows them to stock up on essential staples.

Next, we wish to fund an initial preparation of Ayahuasca sufficient to begin building a client base for this much-needed medicine. In the coming months, we will be looking to establish relationships with credible providers who wish to have access to consistent, safe, high-quality, and purely intentioned medicine. As I have mentioned, the Spiritual and ecological integrity of Ayahuasca commonly produced for export is questionable at best, in this environment Ayahuasca has become something resembling a mere commodity and we intend to produce a medicine of quality, purity and integrity of intention to be distributed by donation, the energy from which returning to the forest and people to ensure a secure future for the plants people and the region itself.

Additionally, as funds allow my partner and the community would like to build a Maloka, a ceremony space to be used by him and other local shamans and youth to sing, to train, to study, and practice their ancestral healing arts. Marden’s father, who was the community Shaman, passed away some years ago leaving a hole in the cultural pattern, and it is his dream to dedicate himself to the study of assuming that role. These are modest goals, and we feel they carry the force of integrity and spirit of synergy.

Each of these projects creates work and advantage for the locals and moves the project closer to its mission of supplying quality medicine by donation, which in turn, folds back into the procuring and development of more land for reforestation, plantation, protection and sustainable development. With the support we receive now, the project will become an engine unto its own and while we will always seek collaboration with people inspired to support, we have been shown that this model is in itself a self-sustainable system, a complete circuit. It appears, the more that the system is revealed to me, that the mind behind this, the will and the force of Nature has seen fit to provide all aspects, has left nothing to waste and no hand unwashed. The beauty and elegance of Her plan is simply astounding and it is my supreme joy to stand as the hands and eyes and voice of its will. Life is, in fact, much deeper, wiser, and more mysterious than we have ever imagined and there are moments where the brilliance of Her design is made to be seen, I feel this is one of those moments.

Values,
Feeling called to take a moment to focus on the values of this project, of Integrity, Purity, A, Syntropy, Abundance, Flow, Harmony, Respect, Stewardship; these values are the foundations of this work and the spirit through which we love as this project comes into being. We feel strongly that by holding close to these values, which have emerged through the teachings of Ayahuasca and of the Spirit of Nature, that what comes will become a reflection of these values and in that way stand to last and to ripple out these energies as we grow together towards a New World.

The Village of Purin,

Again, serendipitously, the Spirit of Ayahuasca and her amazing ability to weave together people and places has brought me to the Native Shiphibo village of Purin, seven hours up the Rio Tamayo from Pucallpa. This small community of around 60 People is the native home or my dear friend and partner on this project, Marden Valera Ochovano. It was he who first brought me to this place and this project has flowed forth organically from there in a spirit of mutual support and collaboration. Shortly after being shown a piece of land available for private sale, and seeing the need for fresh, safe drinking water, waste management and more readily available basic medical care, it became clear the most conscious arrangement was to lease the land under management of the Organization and use the resources to accomplish much-needed goals of the community and its elders. We have an agreement with the elders and authorities of the village to manage this area for the purposes of conservation, plantation, and development as a community shamanic center, which will all bring much-needed energy to the community while at the same time meeting the needs of the broader world for these precious medicines. The synergistic and mutually beneficial and enriching nature of the collaboration has not only arisen organically, it reflects the Spirit and Consciousness of Syntropy, one of our core principles, which itself seeks to mirror the spirit of natural mutual interdependencies and growth in Nature, a synergistic and dynamic balance that moves forward toward stability, harmony, health, abundance, and Life.

As we work, they work, as we secure precious habitat, they secure precious clean water; as we plant for our future, we plant for theirs as well, and as we heal and grow, so do they.

There is a spirit flowing through this collaboration, something much bigger than the village or the goals of our organization, I feel it is the Spirit of what is to come, natural and positive interdependence, a system where complimentary parts come together naturally to accomplish a larger purpose and in the process, intersect the force of balance and abundance that is the True state of Nature, enrichment and progress through cooperation and synergy of complementary parts, this is the Natural flow of Life, not the competition and exploitation that are the hallmarks of our current systems. It Is our faith that this is happening elsewhere, this move towards syntropy and I feel it holds a positive wind of hope for the future of our planet. We thank you for dreaming this dream of Health and Harmony with us and deeply appreciate your support in making it real in this very moment! There are many roles in this system, many parts to be played, if you feel you resonant with this work, we humbly invite you to step into the role of donor and help to give water and nourishment to this new Garden we are delicately caring for.

Stewardship:

It Is a clear and emerging awareness through this work that the dominant archetype of the post-healing/crisis age will be that of Stewardship. Responsible and compassionate parenting and community management, conservation of precious natural resources, regenerative agriculture, and responsible waste and water management will be the touchstones of the new ecological niche towards which the forces of evolution and Nature are pulling us. It is our goal to nurture and grow these skills and this new Consciousness through this project. In order to do this, we have established a plan to protect areas of strategic importance to the ecology of these valuable medicinal plants and to establish plantations in the style of, what Is called here, Agroforestry or Syntropy. The fundamental principle in this practice being to establish plantations on deforested land that host not only medicinal and food plants but also native species, thus constructing an ecosystem that functions regeneratively to improve soil quality and manage water resources while providing food, medicine, and building materials in a sustainable system. In Brazil, this approach Is common practice for producing food and we seek to utilize this model for the production of medicinal plants as well and to one day provide learning opportunities to spread this Consciousness and its practices. This design LITERALLY creates a sustainable niche for human habitation and in our model, this area would also supply needed healing medicines to the broader world thus creating a locus of health, healing, stability and abundance radiating out to heal and educate the broader environment.

Conservation of Ushpa Sanango and other sacred trees

Tabernamonae Undulata, or Ushpa Sanango as it is commonly called here, is a rare and powerful diet plant with powerful potential for healing and transformation. A feminine warrior Spirit, Ushpa Sanango assists us in firmly embodying the wisdom and presence of the Heart. As many of us have seen, it is challenging to open and get in touch with one’s True Heart and another challenge entirely to fearlessly and courageously live from that place in every moment. It is this work that I am told this plant Is here to help us accomplish and dieting with this Master Plant Spirit can help us reach this goal of heart-centered embodiment. Outside of a strict diet setting Ushpa Sanango and her brother Plant Spirit Uchu Sanango are commonly used to make s preparation known as Sananga; the roots are mixed with rainwater and applied in drops to the eyes. The experience Is painful and intense but learning to cope and stay centered and firm in the heart and mind throughout is powerful retraining of our learned instincts to run, to panic, and to close down in response to stress and extreme situations. These skills are essential in cultivating the Essence of the Spiritual Warrior and I feel, incredibly valuable in one’s daily life and in order to face the challenges of our age. The land we are working to acquire here in Peru contains a very healthy grove of these trees, a precious resource and a sacred space in which to connect with the Spirit of the plant. It was a serendipitous discovery and we wish to honor the plant by protecting this area from likely development as the community grows in the coming years. In the coming weeks I will post a video of this area and of the preparation of the medicine Sananga and the diet preparations in traditional Peruvian style. We greatly appreciate your support in preserving the home of this beautiful spirit and look forward to making this sustainably prepared medicine available by donation in the near future.

The project is dedicated to the conservation and support of a number of sacred trees from the Amazon rainforest. These trees include lupuna blanca, shihuahuaco, remo caspi, huaira caspi, camalonga and others.

Jardim Botanico:

The third of the parcels available where the Maloka will be located will feature a botanical garden, the intention being to create not only a preserve of important species but also a space for locals and visitors to connect with the plants themselves. It has been my experience that a space to approach the plant, to pray and meditate with the Spirit is a powerful way to build connection with the plant and strengthen the bond with the Spirit. Often, these moments facilitate deep process during a diet and in general is a powerful way to honor these healers and teachers in a beautiful and accessible way. Again, the creation and maintenance of the space will provide work and income to the community and instill a deeper sense of connection to the plants and the wisdom of their ancestors, and in this way, establish a bridge connecting this modern community with their ancestral heritage. The Spirit of these people is strong; the Spirit of the place and the plants is potent almost beyond words, and it appears this project will serve for them as a bridge between these worlds and provide an opportunity for the coming generations to deepen their connection to these forces and preserve aspects of the culture currently threatened by the growth of the modern age. It is our inspiration to provide an opportunity for increased connection to the ancestral culture while also facilitating education and growth in a forward direction, hopefully in an organic way that helps them stand in wholeness, rooted in culture, and connected to the world. These efforts, which seem to be springing up naturally in the synergy of collaboration fill me with deep joy and gratitude, to give back to this culture for all we have and continue to receive. Permission is asked and offerings made at every step in the process, to the Spirits of the River and the Forest and to the ancestors of these People. By walking in this way, we hope to stay in good alignment and integrity, both with the community and the Spiritual realm.

As this project takes root, of the seeds of Devine Inspiration we have received, in the fertile soil of this region and place, with the water that is our love and passion to serve and the nourishment of your financial support we know not yet how for and in what direction it will grow. We simply trust that the world Is ripe to receive its fruits.

With that I will close and thank you for your interest and for reading this far. It’s been quite a journey so far, and we look forward to having you with us for this next phase of the project. What comes from here will be a collaboration, from the Spirit of the Mother, the River and the Forest, through our hearts and hands and now out to you, as your energy enters the system, the heart of the project will pulse and ripple out again, in the form of the Sacrament that is dear to so many of us and destined to reach countless more. This pulse, so deep from the Heart of Nature, through the hearts of us all, will ripple, with Love, with Light, and with the force of healing that emanates from deep in this Forest. I believe there is no limit to the impact this work can have, the depth of transformation that can occur, the people and the need it will touch in each one as we move ever closer, together, to Home! This is a work the world needs at this time, and in this moment, we need and humbly ask for your support. Again, I thank you for reading this far and for your generosity and energy. We walk forward towards Unity together, always, that brilliant Star, pulsing with Love for eternity, we all know it well, it is our True Home; we are there now, and we are here now, and it is my joy to pass the time in between with all of you, and in service to something greater than us all that is us all.

Thank you all for taking the time to read more about the Project! We hope you resonate with the mission and feel inspired to support in whatever way comes from your heart.
