Today, there are over half a million homeless people in America. Sadly 50,000 of these homeless people are Veterans; brave men and women who have suffered a multitude of demons unable to currently overcome their unfavorable circumstances after serving their country. 40% of them suffer from all kinds of disabilities, both physical and mental. In addition to that, 1.4 million veterans are at risk of becoming homeless given the miniscule support they get from our government.
Of all the items given to homeless shelters, SOCKS are the most needed and requested item, and yet they are the least donated.
With winter slowly approaching, I would like to start an active SOCK DRIVE for the homeless. If you would like to help make sure there are no feet uncovered or exposed to harsh elements this winter, any monetary donation will be spent on durable and comfortable socks for those in need. We will be delivering hundreds of socks on Thanksgiving Day to numerous shelters, with the help of family and friends that would like to participate in making someone's winter a little bit warmer.
If you are in the Dallas area and would like to donate clothing, hygiene products or any other useful items, please contact me. If you are unable to donate, just helping to spread the word is awesome and greatly appreciated!
Let's work together and save some soles
