The Smith Family - Baby Arabella

It is with such heavy hearts that we are organising this fundraiser on behalf of our beautiful friends.

Nathan & Savanna Smith, along with their daughter Eleanor, welcomed darling Arabella into the world on Monday 1st July 2024.

At Savanna’s 20 week ultrasound, Nathan and Savanna were faced with the devasting news that Arabella had significant heart abnormalities & the road ahead was unknown for their baby girl and growing family.

At just six weeks of age, on 10th August, Arabella found her angel wings & went home to glory. She knew nothing but love, her little life an absolute miracle, so treasured by everyone & so deeply loved. Arabella means "yielding to prayer" - a picture of the road they have walked the past six months.

We hope that this fundraiser will allow them some freedom to grieve as a family in the days and weeks ahead; be it to spend some additional time with Nathan home from work, some extra days at daycare for beautiful Eleanor, a cleaner or just some meal deliveries on the nights they don’t feel like cooking.

Congenital heart abnormalities are a severely under-researched and

underfunded condition in Australia, yet it is the number one cause of death for babies.

There is no cure and 1 in 100 babies everyday are born with some degree of heart abnormality. This world of congenital heart defects was foreign to Nathan & Savanna, as I'm sure it would be to most of you, however please consider researching their impact in Arabella's memory.
