Hello, my name is Lisa, and I’m asking for help to support my son-in-law Andrew, my daughter, and my grandkids.

Andrew is a proud, hard-working Aussie bloke who has always shown up for his family. Earlier this year, a situation completely out of his control caused him to lose his business and the income that kept their household afloat. He didn’t sit back he went straight back out and took whatever casual work he could find, doing everything he could to rebuild.

Then life hit him again. Four years ago, Andrew had major back surgery. Recently, everything went backwards. He suddenly lost all feeling in one leg and now cannot walk. After 10 days in hospital with very little support, he was sent home bed-ridden, unable to work, and with no income coming in.

No income.

No ability to work.

No way to stand on his own feet literally or financially.

My daughter is now caring for Andrew full-time, as well as supporting their eldest son who faces serious mental health challenges and is unable to work. Their youngest is only four. Centrelink helps, but it doesn’t come close to covering even the basics food, bills, and keeping a roof over their heads. Andrew now faces a long road of rehab just to regain feeling in his leg and, hopefully, learn to walk again without a frame.

This fundraiser isn’t about extras. It’s simply about survival keeping food on the table and the lights on while they get through this chapter.

I love how this young man has supported my daughter and their boys for so many years. I wish I could take this burden off them myself, but I can’t. So I am asking for help…. something I’ve never been able to do for myself, but I can do for them.
