Community Fund for Keeping Stinson Park Open
Donation protected
UPDATE:
Thanks to all for your participation.
We are currently keeping site open to await final transfer of payments with which to reimburse the Siren (The site can not be deactivated until all funds are transferred out or we'll lose access to the funds). Blessings to all.
Dear Stinson lovers,
Thanks SO MUCH for your support of this worthy care of Stinson Park.
We have the final count of funds donated by one business owner to keep our park open: $10,629.
It was donated over 4 weeks - a hefty sum that was far beyond any business captured during the shutdown.
After fees to GFM, we have so far netted $8,588. to help defray this cost.
We want to give all one last opportunity for folks to contribute a fair share of the cost that was carried by one business. We'll deactivate this site down in 7 days on Tuesday, February 5, so please donate and share as you are able.
Thanks for any support you can offer !

Stinson Beach Community Fund to help keep Stinson Park Open
During this federal shutdown, in order to avoid closing, putting employees out of work and inconveniencing customers, locals, and park visitors, a private business has been using their own funds to keep open and minimally maintain the order of the Stinson Beach Park, parking lot and restrooms by means of hefty donations- now literally THOUSANDS of dollars- to the Park System (see Pt Reyes Light, Jan 10, also KPIX news at 6, January 10 clip below).
We’ve all been trying to eat a lot of tacos, but no quantity served can balance these expenses!
Can we all pitch in to help alleviate this unfair situation?!
I am personally committing to a an amount for each day that the business has kept (and will keep) our park facilities open this month until Federal Government dollars start rolling out again to the Park. If we all could pitch in what we're able, we can put a dent in this significant expense that has benefited us all.
(This GoFundMe was NOT solicited by the business in any way, btw)
Will you consider making a timely donation? Now is the time.
ALL funds will be given towards funding the opening and maintenance of Stinson park facilities, in partial repayment and as a contribution going forward for opening and maintenance of the park for the duration of the shutdown.
Even more specific details about distribution to follow, as the timeline of the national shutdown unfolds. Since I'm a relative newcomer around these parts, several other trusted community members including Harriet Moss and Shannon Rapp will also be co-administering this site so that you know that none of us are off to Vegas!
Thank you in advance for whatever timely support you are able to offer for this worthy community cause!
