The Shoebox Fairies - Back-to-Back Marathons
Donation protected
I am completing the Liverbird Double Marathon (Marathon on NYE 23 and on NYD 24) to raise funds for The Shoebox Fairies (https://www.theshoeboxfairies.com/), a Wigan based charity who's aim is to help relieve poverty and bring joy to those who need it most. Their appeals include (not an exhaustive list):
- Mother & Baby Boxes - For new mums and new-borns living in difficult financial and social circumstances. Their boxes provide them with essentials (and some treats) for their first few weeks on their parenting journey.
- New Beginnings - Focuses on victims fleeing domestic abuse and asylum seekers leaving persecution. Their boxes contain items such as clothing, self care items and a personal attack alarm.
- Christmas - Donate essential items to those living in difficult social and economic circumstances at Christmas time. They collect boxes for children, young adults, older adults and those who are homeless.
The charity is ran by trustees and no trustees receive any remuneration, payments or benefits from the charity.
All money raised will be given to The Shoebox Fairies Charity and will go towards supplementary items for boxes, storage, transport and distribution costs.
Under the umbrella of Soroptomist international Wigan - https://sigbi.org/wigan/
(When donating through ‘GoFundMe’ there is a voluntary tip that can be removed, this goes to ‘GoFundMe’ not the charity)
Cash donations are also being collected.
If you are able to donate or share it will be big help.
Cheers.
