Giving back to Mr. Sharp

A heartfelt alumni-driven initiative for Mr. Frederick Sharp

Dear Fellow LAS Alumni,

Those of us who attended LAS between 1986 and 2009, may have had the opportunity to interact with Mr. Frederick Sharp. Beyond his responsibilities as a teacher, Mr. Sharp served as a mentor, friend, and for many, a source of inspiration that shaped who we are today. His lasting impact on our lives has been profound, and his unique personality left a significant impression on everyone he encountered.

This past summer, Mr. Sharp suffered a stroke, and while he's thankfully on the road to recovery, this challenging time has led him to make the difficult decision to leave his beloved Leysin and return to the United Kingdom to be closer to family.

Recognizing the incredible impact Mr. Sharp has had on so many lives in the global LAS community, we felt compelled to develop an alumni-driven initiative to help alleviate some financial pressures he is facing. This initiative is meant to express our gratitude, ensuring that Mr. Sharp feels the love and support of his "LAS children." We hope to recognize Mr. Sharp’s positive impact on us, reinforce our ongoing appreciation and regard for him, and offer him tangible support.
