The Second Great Chicago Fire
Donation protected
Hey y'all,
Betsy here on behalf of the Anderson family with an opportunity for us to surround their family and say: "We got you!"
What happened?
After only living at their apartment complex for less than 3 months, a fire caused significant damage to the complex and subsequently lead to a total loss of their personal belongings in their unit. By the grace of God, no one was hurt but there was enough water and mold damage to which the apartment is no longer livable. Despite all this, they remain grounded & determined to figure out their next steps.
Unfortunately, the apartment complex is non-communicative and has presented no clear plans for reimbursement, support, or relocation. On top of a total loss situation, it has created a level of ambiguity but an ever-increasing need for short-term assistance.
How can I help?
Without a permanent housing situation set in place, Amazon wishlists and physical item purchases create a secondary problem of not having anywhere to store things. This fund will allow the Anderson family to allocate your generosity to triage their immediate need of dislocation and the loss of all their personal items.
