Hi All

This is a callout to the community. As most of you as children and adults will know, Scallywags Preschool has been a part of our village history for many years. If you didn't attend as a pupil then your children probably did.

Scallywags is a charity funded nursery that gets a minimal amount of funding from the government. It relies mainly on communal contributions to allow it to function. The biggest contributor and the main foundation of the charity is earned through the Mini Mighty Funday. Which is normally ran parallel with the Edgworth 10km run. Sadly last year and also this year the Mini Mighty isn't able to go ahead. Last year the venue wasn't fit for purpose and this year the 10km run had to be moved from June to March due to maintenance work beginning soon around the Wayoh. Also, as most will know, the Cricket Club has had an extensive refurbishment. This unfortunately means the grounds around will not be ready for the footfall of a funday.

Without your help we could lose our beloved Scallywags. As their funds are almost gone. This is where Bret "Did you know I'm an Ironman" Parker & Vic "The Stats Queen" Pickup have stepped in.

On Saturday 6th June Bret and Vic (Scally & Wag) are running a marathon in aid of Scallywags. They will set off from Edgworth Cricket and Recreational Club and run a circular route back to the Club. This is to emphasise the heart of our village. The school, The Barlow & the Cricket Club. Learning , Social and Sport all connected.

We don't just want to raise enough to see them through to next year,we want to leave them with a nesting to support them with up to date learning aids and electronics for our children. So with your help and that of a few sponsors. Let's make our children's future and a village legacy a brighter place.
