The Royal Irish Regiment Charity cycle
As serving members of 1st Battalion, The Royal Irish Regiment, we aim to complete the journey from Clive Barracks, Shropshire, to the Ulster Tower in Theipval, France. We aim to achieve a formidable distance of over 700km over six days. Along the way, we will also cycle past the D-Day landing ground of Sword Beach. We will then cycle through the landing zones at Ranville used by the 2nd Battalion, Royal Ulster Rifles, during the Second World War before travelling to Merville Battery museum and pushing onwards to Theipval itself. These historic sites will only encourage us in the physical and mental challenges we will endure. Knowing the difficulties, our forebears endured so many years ago at such difficult times.
Remembering those who have gone before us and the sacrifices they made for our today, we aim to raise funds to support THE ROYAL IRISH REGIMENT CHARITY who support members past and present and their families during difficult times.
Thank you for the kind support of Level Peaks as we embark on our two-wheeled journey.
Thank you to everyone who has been kind enough to donate and/or for sharing this challenge and unique journey.
