Hi, everyone.
Those I know will be aware that I've been racing karts since I was a kid. This has resulted in us accumulating several karts, engines and spare bits over the years. One of which hasn't turned a wheel in nearly 20 years. So why not build them up and race them all at the same event on the same day!
So:
- 4 karts (100cc TKM, 115cc TKM, twin engine Honda Prokart, single engine Honda GXUK), all with different handling characteristics and driving styles in packed grids of other competitors
- 12 separate heats of racing, followed by 4 finals. Roughly accumulating to just over 3 hours of driving based on 10 minute heats and 15 minute finals.
- All the preparation and maintenance of the karts in-between races. Repairs, fueling, tyre pressures etc.
The chosen venue for the challenge is Rowrah, Cumbria. 16th August and organised by Access Karting UK https://www.accesskarting-uk.com/
Bit of a unique challenge, so thought I'd try and raise some money for charity. The chosen charity is Help for Heroes https://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/. All money raised both on here and on the day will go to them. I am hoping to spend no more than £500 on getting all 4 karts ready for the event, so lets try and get as close to that as possible.
