Hello, my name is Brianna. I’m starting this fundraiser for a very special family. My sister, brother in law, and nephew have been dreaming of adding a baby to their family for several years. Unfortunately, they’ve endured several losses along the way. Please take a few moments to read their story. Thank you in advance.
Brittany and Stephen welcomed their first beautiful baby boy in May of 2011. They began trying to grow their family after their first natural loss on 1/26/15 Harlow
In the fall of 2016 they began seeking fertility treatment. Between 2016 and 2017 they had three unsuccessful intrauterine inseminations.
Tragically on 3/31/17 they experienced their second natural loss, Leo Alexander, followed by their 3rd on 9/19/19 Remi Quinn, and 4th on 8/14/20 Aiden Stanley
In January 2021 Brittany and Stephen began their IVF journey. Unfortunately their insurance doesn’t cover any IVF treatment so the following costs have been completely out of pocket.
Thankfully the IVF package they chose has been paid for which covers two egg retrievals and unlimited Embryo transfers.
-1st round egg retrieval Feb. 2021 medications cost approximately $7,000
-Embryo genetic testing $1,100
—Embryo storage fee $200/month
-5th natural loss 3/26/21 Tristan Sawyer
-1st round Embryo Transfer June 16, 2021 medications cost approximately $500
Their 6th loss was their little embryo baby 6/28/21 Caroline Joy
After their embryo transfer loss Brittany and Steve had a consultation with their fertility doctor. She recommends doing a "mock transfer". This will be done exactly how the 1st embryo transfer was done, however instead of transferring an embryo a uterine biopsy is done. The biopsy is sent to the lab which will tell them if there are any additional medications Brittany needs to take for the next embryo transfer. It can also tell them, down to the hour, when the optimal time for implantation is which will assist with more accurate timing for our next embryo transfer. Unfortunately the cost of the "mock transfer" is approximately $2,000 and medications are approximately $500. Once they get results they will be able to proceed with their 2nd egg retrieval (meds again approx $7,000)and hopefully another embryo transfer (meds again approximately $500).
I’d like to thank you for reading this story and everyone who has been supportive of their journey thus far. If everyone could share this I would be so appreciative. Brittany and Stephen are such wonderful people and deserve the world! Wesley is an amazing little boy and will make a wonderful big brother! Thank you!!!
