THE ROSINS: THE FAMILY THAT GIVES, NOW NEEDS YOU

The funniest, sweetest, most loved family needs your help. Leslye and Jimmy Rosin have so often emptied their pockets and volunteered their time to assist others in times not so dissimilar to what they currently face. They now need the "what comes around, goes around" mantra to ring true.

Jimmy is the local high school art teacher who pours talent into your children and delights in their success and individual growth. Leslye is the local high school administrative assistant -- the unheralded, silent glue that keeps the engine running for the benefit of countless students and teachers. They both go to work every day with other people's children as their motivation. We all know that while they are rewarded with gracious appreciation, although meaningful, heart-felt, and endlessly motivating to keep them going, words do not pay the bills and certainly do not fix a crumbling house.

This husband and wife and their amazing daughter have gone for over a month without hot showers. Most of their savings was spent replacing the air conditioning system, which we all know in Texas is imperative. Not long after, the hot water heater crashed, something surely not too difficult to replace. In attempting to, they learned their entire plumbing system has to be replaced. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to them, the faulty water heater and failed plumbing had been leaking for a significant amount of time, causing exorbitant and wholly unexpected water bills, further delaying attempts to save the necessary funds to make essential repairs.

But that was not enough. What can go wrong, shall go wrong and has to all go wrong simultaneously. The water leaking under their pier and beam home softened the ground and has caused the foundation to shift, buckling portions of their flooring. Their roof is also leaking, resulting in substantial interior damage. When in doubt, put a bucket under it! And they did, but this is not a solution. It's a band-aid.

If all that does not persuade you to reach into your pocket, this plea for help is coming in conjunction with a horrible personal tragedy for this family beyond the physical brick-and-mortar issues with their home. They are presently wading through uncompromising grief from the sudden and inexplicable tragic death of a loved one. Their home should be the place that provides them with comfort and warmth, not cold showers and unrelenting stress.
