The Road to Repatriation

Hello all!! We are the Bradby's! We are raising funds to finish the building of our rammed earth home in Ghana! 10 years ago, very early in our relationship, we learned about sustainable living and decided that would be our dream! Along the way we were learning more and more about our history and where we come from.

Sankofa, A Twi word from the Akan Tribe of Ghana that loosely translates to, “go back and get it.” Its literal translation comes from the Akan proverb, "Se wo were fi na wosan kofa a yenkyiri," meaning, "It is not taboo to go back for what you forgot (or left behind)."

During our studies, and the pandemic, we discovered something......www.repatiratetoghana.com and our lives were forever changed!! With their help, we purchased a small plot of land on Akuepem mountain in Mampong Ghana, and are that much closer to our dream being a REALITY!! Repatriate to Ghana is backed by the Ghanaian government, so we are protected in every way! This is our way to "go back and get it" and get as close to the original ways of doing things as we can. We chose rammed earth to pay homage to that, and Kasa Kunsultants was the obvious choice. Getting back to grassroots. Back to the basics. Living off of the land. A simple and beautiful life in the land of our ancestors. We have done the majority of the work and need just a little more to finish the job to make all of our dreams come true!! All donations would go towards our repatriation journey and to complete the building of the house! Donations are also protected by the Gofundme Garuntee!
