I'm fundraising for communities facing high crime rates by putting The Raptors Network into the hands of neighbors who need it most. I created this web app and its electronic attachments to strengthen community watch efforts, widen awareness, and keep neighbors connected even when cell towers and Wi-Fi are down. My goal is to equip groups of 10 or more neighbors in each area so they can watch out for one another in real time.
The Raptors Network works in layers. The Call is a wearable alarm tag disguised as jewelry. When the pin is pulled or the silent button is pressed, a GPS location broadcasts to nearby neighbors without cell service. The Raptors Key is a dongle that turns an Android phone into a mesh command center, allowing teams to see each other on a map, send encrypted messages, and receive alerts in the background. The Raptors Radar is pocket radar that detects human presence through walls and darkness from 30 or more feet away. The Grid uses solar sensor nodes to detect motion, heat, footsteps, and tripwires, helping create a wider safety net as more nodes are added.
The app also watches for irregularities like unexpected routes, missed check-ins, and sudden changes in movement, and it can trigger an alarm automatically. If someone enters a basement, tunnel, or elevator and loses signal, the Network remembers the last known location and keeps retrying until someone acknowledges.
This feels urgent to me because of the kinds of tragedies communities keep living through. I think about Trinity Durham and Iyanna Warr, two 20-year-old mothers and friends who were killed in an apartment at Louisville's Family Scholar House on August 23, 2026. These losses are part of why I built this system. I wanted to create something people can use before violence happens, not only after the worst has already occurred.
This is also personal for me. I know what it feels like to be alone and suddenly see a group appear. My mind goes straight to the fear that if someone grabs me, no one will know in time. That fear is why I built this. What keeps me up at night is knowing that the families who need this kind of protection most often cannot afford it.
