Some of the young people who come to The Quiet Space haven’t left the house in weeks.
School isn’t always an option for them. Busy environments can feel overwhelming, and making friends isn’t easy when the world feels too loud, too fast, or too much.
The Quiet Space was created for them.
We are a small, volunteer-led group in Manchester/Salford for young people aged 11–18 who are neurodivergent, home-educated, or struggling to cope in high-pressure environments.
Every Friday, we open a calm, low-pressure space where they can simply be themselves. There’s no expectation to talk or “fit in”. Some come to craft, some sit quietly, some slowly build friendships at their own pace.
For many, this is one of the only places they feel safe, understood, and accepted.
Why we need your help
We run on a very small budget, but demand is growing. Your support will help us provide:
Weekly craft materials and activities
Snacks and drinks
Sensory equipment like fidget items and ear defenders
Quiet breakout spaces
Volunteer travel costs to keep sessions running
✨ The difference you make
This isn’t just a group, it’s a lifeline.
We’ve seen young people who couldn’t leave the house start attending. We’ve seen confidence grow, friendships form, and families feel less alone.
Thank you
If you’re able to donate or share, you’re helping us build a kinder, more understanding community where every young person belongs.
