The PU Upfulness fund

Morning everyone. I’ve had this idea for a while but haven’t actioned it because I wasn’t sure who would do it or if it was stupid. Classic self doubt stuff. Anyway, when I was starting out as a producer Jimmy Napes gave me, and I stress gave me, his old Digi 002, an En-Voice MK II preamp and Ableton. This was pre massive success Jimmy Napes I might add. Also Tommy Baxter gave me his Dynaudio monitors. They helped me cos they wanted to. I didn’t have the money at the time to get myself set up. My point is that along the way we have all been helped in one way or another by someone. Fast forward to today and I did a lecture at a university about production for a mate. They paid me £100 but I never felt comfortable taking the £100. So last night I set up a go fund me and put the £100 in there. The fund is called The PU Upfulness Fund and it’s for anyone on here that might at some point need a little help. Money is a strange thing in this game and we all pretend that we’ve all got it. But there are times when I have been broke, like BROKE broke. And not just at the start of my career. Trust me.

SO I’m not asking you to match me, I’m not even asking you to donate. But someone here might not have a Jimmy or a Tommy. But they’re behind on studio rent or they need to pay a lawyer fee or they need to fix their laptop, or they need to pay the bills. Whatever it is, wouldn’t it be nice if this community we have created could help. Cos that’s what communities do. Put in £1, put in £10, put in nothing there is zero pressure. And if it all goes tits up and no one does this someone can have my £100 . I’ve set the target to £5k but let’s see how we get on.
