My name is Dani Fortune,

Like a lot of people, I’ve experienced and seen too many horror stories of women not feeling safe doing the most basic things like getting home at night, waiting for transport, or just walking alone. This is my attempt to help change that in a small but practical way.

While I am more than aware that women are not responsible for the acts of violence against them, it is still important to try and ensure that we have as many tools available to keep us as safe as possible.

I’m raising funds to provide free UK LEGAL self-defence sprays to women in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland who want an extra layer of protection in their daily lives.

Too many women feel unsafe walking home, waiting for transport, or simply going about their day. While we can’t remove every risk, we can take practical steps to help people feel more secure and better prepared.

In Northern Ireland and across the wider region, there is growing concern about violence against women, with many campaigners and organisations describing the situation as a crisis. These ongoing issues have left many women feeling vulnerable, and this initiative is a small but practical response aimed at providing immediate tools for personal safety.

This fundraiser works on a pay-it-forward basis: every donation covers the cost of one self-defence spray unit, which will then be gifted directly to another woman who needs it. Your contribution doesn’t just support the project — it becomes a tangible safety tool in someone else’s hands.

This fundraiser will go directly toward purchasing reliable self-defence spray kits, which will then be distributed free of charge to women who request them.

Every donation will go toward:

* Purchasing self-defence spray devices in bulk to reduce cost

* Safe storage and distribution of the sprays

* Ensuring that they are dispensed to as many women as possible

* Providing basic guidance on safe use

This is an initiative focused on empowerment, safety, and practical support.
