Who doesn't love a book written by kids?
This is the second book in a series written by children for children - this book is about the importance of pollinators and pollination, following on from the original Bee Book, now in its 4th print run.
Over the past 6 months, we have been working with children in the Huon Valley, Tasmania raising their awareness about pollinators with the aim of the children telling their pollinator story. The Huon Valley is a food bowl for the rest of Australia and relies heavily on pollinators for apples, cherries, berries and other fruit and vegetables.
We are now ready to publish the final book.
This has been a grass roots project with no government funding. We have approached local business in the community and have gained support from RandR Smith Organic Orchards, AgriFutures, the Southern Tasmanian Beekeepers Association, Tasmanian Pollination Services, Lyson Australia and Ashbeez.
This fundraiser will help us to complete this project.
We are aiming to launch the published book with the authors on May 21 in recognition of World Bee Day.
