THE PIZZA PUMP PARTY!

As someone who is part of the LGBTQIA+ community, I think it's important to give back to the younger generations and to those of us who struggle with society—specifically because of a part of who we are. The best we can do is to help them find the tools and resources, through chosen organizations, to get back on their emotional and physical feet. It gets better; it certainly did for me. The Pizza Pump Party is an event geared towards fundraising for three organizations that aid LGBTQIA+ youth and young adults with tools and resources. We've raised funds for the following three organizations in the past, and we look to make a difference again this year!

1. RECLAIM:

An organization working to increase access to mental health support for queer and trans youth, ages 13-25, who are marginalized because of their gender identity, gender expression, and/or sexual orientation.

2. THE BRIDGE FOR YOUTH:

A shelter in the Twin Cities (MN) that helps children and teens with a place to stay, food to eat, and resources to map out a future.

3. THE NAMING PROJECT:

An organization that strives to create places of safety for youth of all sexual orientations and gender identities where faith is shared, and healthy life-giving community is molded. A place where youth can explore and share faith, reach out to others, and advocate for systemic change in church and society.

Everyone has had a little help somewhere and somehow, and for some of us, it has dramatically changed our lives (and the lives of those around us). So why not be the positive catalyst in someone's life? We have the right to be who we are, and this is an opportunity to show the LGBTQIA+ youth and young adults that it's okay to be yourself. BE YOU—no apologies, no starvation, no sleepless nights, no abandonment, no persecution, no political ideology, no discrimination, and no shade needed. Your donation, no matter the amount, helps in more ways than you think. We can't change the whole world in one month, but we CAN make a HUGE difference in someone's lifetime.
