Hi! We are a group of Lower Sixth Students (Y12) in Sevenoaks School. This October, we have been given a chance to embark on the annual South Africa Global Partnerships Trip - and we would be so grateful for your support.
We’ll spend two weeks working with local communities and conservation groups. For our first project, we will be working with the Unity Food Garden to foster sustainable agriculture and immerse in garden cultivation. Next, we will be working with the Railton Foundation Swellendam in the Hands of Renewal project. In this initiative, we will rejuvinate outdoor spaces of the elderly and disabled homeowners by painting houses and maintaining their gardens. Finally, we will work alongside local artist Donovan Julius to create a mural that unites art, culture and community. Furthermore, we will visit a SPCA shelter and support the Zolani Youth Choir, which helps younger people find a better path in life.
Then we head to Pilanesberg National Park to learn about wildlife conservation. We’ll be helping with things like fence repairs, learning from anti-poaching teams, and even taking part in a rhino protection project!
This trip is really important to us — it’s a chance to learn, grow and give back to the community. We are hoping to raise £50,000 to help these charities and support the creation of a performing art centre for the youth.
Any donation, no matter how small, would mean the world. Even just sharing this helps! Thanks so much for your time!
Kindest Regards,
