​My name is Doug, and like many of you, I've grown increasingly concerned about the state of our politics. Over the past few decades, I've noticed, and I believe others have noticed, that politics has become a world where we can’t always trust what our public officials say. It often feels like there’s no way to hold them accountable, regardless of which side of the aisle they’re on. This feeling of lost truth and a broken system has motivated me to take action and do my part to restore integrity to public service.

​ This is a problem that affects everyone. It erodes our trust in the very institutions that are supposed to serve us, and it makes a mockery of the values we hold dear as a country. I believe the time for change is now.

What We're Doing

​I've already created "The People's Truth in Public Service Act of 2025," a proposed bill designed to hold public officials accountable for knowingly false statements. This act is about creating a new standard of integrity and transparency in our government.

​Our next step is to take this message directly to the people. To do that, we need to create a mobile campaign to travel to different venues, talk to more people, and get more signatures on the petition.

Restore Trust in Our Democracy

​Trust in government is at a critical low. When elected officials make knowingly false statements without consequence, it erodes public confidence, distorts policy debates, and can lead to real-world harm. The "People's Truth in Public Service Act of 2025" is a citizen-initiated bill designed to restore integrity and accountability to our political system.

Short Summary Report

Scope & Definitions: Bars “knowingly false statements” (including omissions and AI-generated misinformation) by elected officials, while allowing prompt corrections and safeguarding protected speech.

Oversight Bodies: Creates a Federal Integrity Commission (plus state ethics commissions) to receive complaints, investigate, hold hearings, and publish findings with full due process.

Graduated Penalties: Imposes fines, mandatory ethics training, censure, suspension of privileges, removal from office, pension forfeiture, and possible criminal referral.

Implementation: Grants rulemaking authority, mandates quarterly transparency reports, protects whistleblowers, and takes effect 180 days after enactment.
