The Patterson Family fundraiser Healing Process

Hello we are the Patterson, On Halloween night, October 31,2022 changed the lives of our family forever. During a balloon release to honor the life of our cousin that had passed, we became the victims of a senseless mass shooting. A moment of remembrance and celebration turned to terror and chaos with the sudden sound of gunshots and screams from men, women, and children.
everyone was running and yelling and crying out for help. We didn’t know which way to run because we didn’t know who, what and where the shots were coming from. We truly do not know or understand why we was targeted. Ten of the our family members was shot and one running from the shots was hit and dragged by a car, there were 3 children ( ages 3,1 and 13) and 7 adults were shot down. We lay bleeding, crying and holding our love ones not knowing if we would live or die. But by the grace of God and prayer, we are still here.
The trauma still remains. Many of us has undergone multiple procedures and surgeries and still more are upcoming. No one could ever prepare you for the mental, psychological and physical toll that is inflicted upon you as an individual and collectively as a family. Yet here we are thrust into this situation. The state of confusion and bewilderment remains while trying to get through surgeries to begin the healing process.
As stated, many of us have undergone multiple procedures and surgeries, skin grafts and tubes still connected. Some can not stand, walk or take care of ourselves and need continued care. Some even have bullets and/or fragments still embedded because of the risk of more harm due to the location of the bullets. There are more hospital and follow up appointments still scheduled. Putting all of the physical and mental toll this caused aside.
There is a financial impact. Many are not able to go to work to take care of ourselves and our families. There is so much needed when one person is injured but just imagine 11 in one family.
Though financial assistance is needed. We also want JUSTICE someone out there knows something. Please come forward, even if anonymously to bring the persons responsible for this heinous act to justice. We have to come together as a community in all communities as a nation to stop acts of violence like this from happening. All of us from the Patterson Family appreciate your many words of encouragement, thoughts and prayers and whatever help you can bless our family with to help ease this burden rather big or small we appreciate your kindness.
Thanks to each and all
