The passing of Jake Glover

As some of you may be aware Jake Glover, son of Scott and Karen Glover and brother to Daniel and George sadly passed away recently on the 4th of February just months from his 18th Birthday. Jake was diagnosed as an infant with Fucosidosis, an extremely rare and debilitating disease that would require a high level of around-the-clock care from his family, intensifying as Jake grew older.

Scott and Karen were told it would be unlikely that Jake would see his 6th birthday, this limiting prediction Jake defied, along with countless others. Rather than succumbing to his disease aged 6 Jake decided to learn how to walk instead, such was his nature. Jake spread happiness wherever he went, his infectious smile his trademark and his loss will be felt by all.

Both Scott and Karen have devoted their lives to providing 24-hour care for Jake. Karen sacrificed a career to become Jake's full-time carer, while self-employed Scott became the sole source of income for his family.

Upon hearing of Jake's passing people have shown a desire to support this wonderful family and help alleviate some of the financial pressure that will impact them as they grieve the loss of their son, this page will hopefully provide those who would like to assist a means to do that.
