The painful truth about mental health.

Since early 2022, our friends, the owners of Couture Cakes by Nika (in Newport News, VA) have been in dire need of our help. During the pandemic, one of their immediate family members has become stricken with a severe mental health disorder. The diagnosis of this mental illness is bipolar schizophrenia. This mental illness like so many others, has impaired their loved one from the ability to complete healthy normal day to day functions. This illness has negatively impacted their family business from functioning as well as it could hitting them hard financially. For quite sometime, they have been in an immense struggle to pay their bakery's rent and bills, as well as those in their home. Since the quarantine period of the pandemic they have been doing a great portion of their business from their company vehicle, which is now in need of hefty repairs. Please assist us in helping them keep their business doors open and remove some of the weight of hardship from their home. Couture Cakes by Nika is a pillar in this community and we don’t want to lose them. Over the past decade Couture Cakes by Nika has supported community events, made donations to several nonprofit organizations, and also raised and given money to families that suffered major loss, experienced hardship due to life circumstances, and those that simply live an unfortunate life. There is no gift too large or too small. This family will greatly appreciate your time and generosity. We have all been between a rock and a hard place at one time or another and we are simply asking that you would partner with us to help this family. It could so easily be any one of us.
