THE ONLY HOME FOR THE DEVELOPMENTALLY CHALLENGED IN GHANA
Donation protected
I am Albert Johnson, the rep of my cousin, Martha Opoku Agyemang, owner of Appiahene CP Respite & Home in Kumasi, Ghana. There are no places in Ghana where the developmentally challenged could be treated, trained and cared for to enable them lead an independent lives like those that exist in the West. In certain parts of Ghana, a person with cerebral palsy (CP) is believed to be evil or as a result of a curse from the deities and as such could be abandoned at the sea side, a river bank or in the forest as a sacrifice to the gods. After Martha gave birth to a child with CP, she took the trouble upon herself to find a place to take care of children with CP and those having other forms of challenges. The attached Youtube documentary by the Joy FM Station in Ghana explains it all. Martha urgently needs a home where she can take care of the needy as she has been doing for the past years. The rented home they earlier had has been sold by the owner. Thank.
