Children have always been at the center of our story. From Dustie working in childcare throughout her entire life to both of us following our dreams to become teachers and work with students every day, we have always had children at the forefront of our mind. Our earliest conversations when we began dating in 2016 were centered around our future family and our philosophies for raising kids. After a year of trying after we were married, we found ourselves going through fertility treatments and many doctors visits only to find out that biological children are not in our future. We carefully and thoughtfully considered our next steps and landed on the decision to pursue adoption of a newborn to bring into our already little family of us and our two dogs, Miles and Ella. After careful research and planning we decided to partner with Mark Iverson and the Adoption Services of Spokane to help us realize our dream. This agency is committed to open adoptions where the birthmother is strongly considered and cared for every step of the way. We are completely on board with their philosophy and wholeheartedly support the open adoption of our future child. We are excited to be working with Mark and his team as we take steps toward achieving our dream.
The cost of an adoption through our selected agency can be broken down as follows:
$1200 - cost of an adoption home study in Washington state
$4000 - initial waiting pool fee and emergency money for birthmother
$5000 - initial placement fee
$10,000 - custody fee
$10,000 - TPR/final placement Fee
Up to $10,000 - birth mother support
$ 1,100 - post placement home study fee
$ 1,835 - finalization fee
We are seeking the generosity of our friends, family, and strangers that may come across this GoFundMe to help us in the costs associated with this exciting next step in our lives. Our GoFundMe has been created to take the final steps toward the adoption of this child. Your generous contribution will go toward birthmother care fees, finalization costs, and associated lawyer/agency fees. We are thankful to be in a place financially where most of our costs are already accounted for and we are grateful that you are considering helping us make this final push toward realizing a dream that's been on our hearts and minds for so long.
As a special thank you and recognition of our donors, we will be assembling a puzzle with the name of each donor written on the back of each piece. This puzzle will then be sealed together and hung up in our baby's nursery as a permanent reminder that the generosity and thoughtfulness of our community and strangers touched by our story are what helped us grow our family in a way we've only dreamed of. Stay tuned for updates on this GoFundMe and our associated Facebook page (http://bit.ly/parrill-adoption-group) to see where we are in the journey.
Whether you donate $1, $100, more, share the page, or give us positive thoughts and prayers we are so thankful that you took the time to consider us and our story. This child will be brought into a loving and supportive community with parents, friends, and family that care for them and cheer them on every step of the way. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for giving us your time and we are excited to keep you updated on the journey!
With our love,
Josh and Dustie (and Miles and Ella)
