The Old Reds SA Bushfire Recovery
Dear Old Red and member of the Prince Alfred College community
As you know, our beautiful State has recently been ravaged by fires, and unfortunately members of our Old Reds’ and College community have been severely impacted.
On behalf of the Prince Alfred Old Collegians' Association, I am seeking the generosity of our community, and hope that you may assist by:
1. Volunteering your time with Blazeaid, https://blazeaid.com.au/volunteering-information/being-a-blazeaid-volunteer/, a national organisation ‘helping communities rebuild after natural disasters’ at their Lobethal or Parndana (Kangaroo Island) camps; and / or
2. A cash donation which will assist Blazeaid in the purchasing of new trailers, fencing equipment and assisting with a much needed cash injection (which will fund new trailers and subsidise volunteers with transport costs to and from Kangaroo Island); and / or
3. Equipment including fencing materials (posts, wire, wire cutters), rigger gloves, high vis vests, safety glasses, etc.
Being a BlazeAid Volunteer is easy! You don’t need any fencing experience, just a willingness to give it a go and learn on the job. You can volunteer for a day or two, or a week or more for the next six months!
Simply register with me, providing your full details, and a date(s) that you wish to participate at either the Parndana KI or Lobethal camps. I will then provide Blazeaid with a weekly update of volunteers.
Please get on board, and join us in making a difference.
Thank you!
