The Ocean Room's survival support page

The Ocean Room is a small mixed use community production space in the Excelsior neighborhood of SF serving the independent arts and private celebrations. We've been building out the space since 2019 after losing our theater of almost 20 years in SoMa to a condo development.

As some of you have followed I've had the misfortune of one of the members here becoming aggressive and abusive leading to being asked to leave but refusing to do so. This has made life miserable here for all involved and they've effectively been squatting since last summer. Their bad behavior has made it very difficult to operate the community space and we've only done a handful of activities as a result. The extended costs have grown in excess of $50k.

I'm asking for help with covering some of the past and continuing with the ongoing legal fees in resolving this unfortunate situation. Currently at $8K and likely to be more than double that by the time we get in front of a judge.

Once this person is gone we can finally return to serving you, our community, with more regular programming in this space built with love.
