The Next Miss District of Columbia

My name is Kathleen Bostick, a soon-to-be Summa Cum Laude Graduate from Spelman College with a Bachelor of Science Degree. I am proud to announce that I am a candidate in the running for the 2023-2024 Miss District of Columbia Miss America. Serving as Miss DC would afford me the opportunity to strengthen Social Justice Service Initiative, InterstellHER: Launching Diversity in Space and STEM. InterstellHER focuses on making science and space-related opportunities more accessible to women and girls. As a candidate for Miss District of Columbia and hopefully one day Miss America, it is my mission to reach women and girls across our nation with the incredible wonders of Space and STEM. I have served as an Intern at NASA’s Space Grant Consortium for various educational programs, won a prestigious award from the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation, and have led multiple scientific innovation projects in K-12 public schools in DC, Maryland, Virginia, and Georgia to further push this community initiative forward nationally. Your support in my journey would provide the financial opportunities to fund service projects for women and children as well as support the financial costs for participating in the Miss American Pageant as a whole.
