I am an artist and mother of a man who has suffered from Schizophrenia for 27 years. In October 2023, I decided to reach out to other women similarly affected, inviting them to be part of a participatory work to raise awareness, provide a space to be seen and heard, create a sense of connection. The Missing Project was born. With 255 participants nationwide, the work is starting to have a real impact. So far, there has been a display at Ramsgate Library, a live event at the Lighthouse Arts and Music Pub marking World Schizophrenia Awareness Day, displays outside City Lit in London, and posters on Deal Railway Station. There is now a full scale exhibition at the Beaney House of Art and Knowledge in Canterbury, and the response has been remarkable. I now wish to take this exhibition to other venues around the UK, North, South, East, West.
Will you help me?
Here is the website dedicated to the project.
I’d be really grateful for your support.
