The Miklos Family get an Accesible Vehicle
Donation protected
Hi my name is Sirus! I was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy type 2 (SMA 2) in July of 2019 when I was just a few months old. I use a wheelchair and other mobility aids to get around. As I grow, I will need a bigger wheelchair- and it is already hard for my current wheelchair to fit in my mom and dads car. We could really use an accessible van or SUV in the near future so I can continue to go to school and my weekly appointments. Used accesible vehicles can be hard to come by, and always include huge price tags and expensive repair fees. Please consider helping my family get a safe accessible vehicle :)

From Sirus’s mom Dani:
This gofundme is to help us with the purchase of a wheelchair accessible vehicle. We currently have a medium sized sedan that is used for 99% of Sirus’s travel to school, therapies, and anywhere else we go. Currently we have to disassemble and reassemble Sirus’s wheelchair every single to time we go anywhere and heft him in and out of his car seat. This takes time and sometimes stops us from leaving the house altogether when the weather is yucky. In addition to Sirus’s wheelchair we have various gait trainers, leg braces and other equipment that we travel with weekly and can barely get into our current vehicle.
Converted vehicles run a minimum of $60,000 and can each into the $100,000 depending on all of the needs required. We currently live on a 1 income household so that I can stay home with Sirus and meet his needs at all times. This was a huge financial sacrifice that impacted us greatly but was a necessity. With a limited income it makes the reality of purchasing of vehicle of this kind seem daunting and almost impossible.
With the funds raised in this gofundme we hope to be able to purchase a vehicle for Sirus and our family as soon as possible.
