The Melver family has been suffering from unknown illnesses and were recently displaced from the home they were renting because of a toxic mold infestation. The infestation was posing serious health risks and rendering their home uninhabitable. To protect their health and safety, they’ve had to abandon not only their home but also most of their belongings—including furniture, clothing, and sentimental items—that cannot be salvaged due to contamination.

The financial burden is overwhelming. Between medical expenses from exposure, temporary housing costs, and the daunting task of rebuilding their lives from scratch, the family is facing challenges no one should have to endure alone. Unfortunately, they have little or no recourse from renter's insurance or Washington's landlord/tenant laws.
