Our Fertility journey after Child & Pregnancy loss

Hello — we’re Christopher and Samantha. We’re writing this with heavy hearts, but also with deep hope. Our journey to grow our family has been filled with love, loss, and unimaginable pain. Today, we’re humbly asking for your help.

In 2020, after four long years of infertility, we were blessed with our miracle son, Raiden. He brought joy, light, and purpose to our lives. We were the proudest, happiest parents. He was everything to us. But in July 2024, just five days before his 4th birthday, our sweet Raiden was taken from us in a tragic accident during a family vacation.

Our world shattered.

As we grieved the loss of our son, we were already carrying the heartbreak of two miscarriages — one in December 2023 (just a year after Christopher lost his mother), and another in June 2024 (mamas birthday), the month our first loss was due. Such a punch in the gut. We named those babies Marlow and Mystery, and they are forever in our hearts. We always dreamed of a big family — a tribe filled with love and laughter. That dream feels more distant than ever, but our desire to become parents again is still strong. The emptiness is something we can never fully describe… but we hold onto hope that we will hold another child in our arms one day.

We’ve been trying to conceive again, now with the help of Clomid and Letrozole. But with every passing month, the emotional and financial toll grows heavier. We’ve had to delay tests due to cost, and with time working against us, we’re preparing ourselves for the possibility of IUI or IVF, which can cost upwards of $30,000. That amount feels overwhelming, but we’re setting it as our goal so we can hit milestones along the way.
We were amazing parents to our sweet Raiden. We have so much love to give. We know we can give another child a beautiful life — if we can just get there.

✨ Update – May 23, 2025
This month brought some challenges. We had to postpone the HSG test due to financial setbacks. While my follicle count showed some progress, the follicles didn’t grow beyond 9mm, and I didn’t ovulate this cycle. My doctor is increasing my Letrozole dose for next month.

We were able to secure a small personal loan to cover a few more appointments. If all goes well, we hope to begin IUI in July. Thank you for walking this road with us.

️ Update – June 19, 2025
Today I finished my last day of a 10-day course of progesterone, in hopes of kickstarting my cycle. Now we wait — again — for cycle day one to begin. With this delay, June is officially a no-go for us. That means our next possible ovulation cycle won’t be until early to mid July. Thank you for holding space for me, even in the hard moments.

Update: Today, June 30th, I took my last dose of Letrozole!
Next step: I go in on July 7th for an ultrasound to check how my follicles are growing!!!!

7/7 Update: Positive Progress!
I had an ultrasound today to check on follicle growth, and I’m thrilled to say there are TWO big follicles—one on each side! This is such a huge win, especially considering that in my last cycle, the follicles didn’t grow at all. The increase in medication worked, and my body is finally responding! We’re now testing to catch the peak ovulation window, so everything is moving forward.
