Hi all,
As some of you know, the Mayor gets to support a chosen charity during their term in office. The work carried out by the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice resonates with me hugely, especially the work they do with rainbow mums.
As someone who has two rainbow babies of her own and has sadly had to witness close family and friends go through child and infant loss in recent years, I felt an automatic connection to the hospice and the work they do to support families and children.
The difficulties facing hospices throughout the country have been well documented. Whilst it has been important for me to raise funds alongside awareness of the work carried out by the hospice I felt it was important for me to really go out there and give something personal and part of me towards my fundraising efforts.
I have therefore decided to donate my long and luscious locks to The Little Princess Trust.
The Little Princess Trust provides free real hair wigs to children and young people, up to 24 years, who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other conditions.
All funds raised will go to the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice and the hair will be donated to The little Princess Trust.
You can find more information on my chosen charity below. I’d also like to thank everyone that has supported my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks,
Cllr Nosheen Dad
Mayor of Kirklees
