My friend and her husband’s elementary school-aged adopted daughter went for a visit with people the family trusted, and they did not return her. The police were able to locate the little girl weeks later, 300 miles away, and reunite her with the only parents she ever knew. Shortly after she was returned, the little girl was seen by a trauma team and diagnosed with Childhood PTSD as a result of the conditions she endured during her ordeal. After almost 2 years of legal proceedings, and much to the relief of their daughter, the family now has a permanent court order for no-contact with the people who severely betrayed their trust.
This family is very thankful and appreciative of all the support they have received in the form of prayers, practical help, and monetary support. Now that the case is over, the family is faced with a long road of emotional therapy for their daughter. Between paying their legal fees and therapy sessions, they are looking at a mountain of bills, estimated between $10,000 and $20,000. This is a huge burden to a single income family who are committed to carrying through with the emotional therapy their little one needs to overcome the PTSD inflicted on her at such a young age.
Please consider what you can do to give this family a hand with the expenses that were thrust upon them by a situation over which they had no control. All funds raised will go directly to the family to ensure the emotional recovery of the child and to assist in paying off debts related to this case. Any amount contributed is greatly appreciated. If you are not able to contribute at this time, please pass this along to others. Thank you very much.
